The Green Team

Each summer TRAILS partners with the Sister’s of Saint Joseph’s to develop the appreciation of gardening, landscaping, and sustainable food production in Beaver County’s youth.  This is a hands-on learning experience offered to youth showing an interest and aptitude respect for the environment.

This summer, TRAILS is also partnering with Seeds of Hope, a new community-based gardening initiative in Beaver Falls.  Seeds of Hope will help and inspire the community to create a holistic approach to eating and cooking from the garden.  The garden site will be used as a place where residents may come to sit and enjoy the smells and colors of a vibrant plantscape.  Seeds of Hope begins with soil and desires to grow into an ecosystem of relationships and partnerships that strengthen family and neighborhood investment.

Opportunities will be afforded to the Green Team and the rest of Hayes Summer Camp to be involved with this new community garden, located at the Mt. Washington Apartments.
